Hip Hemiarthroplasty on Trochanteric Fracture [CN-221020]
Hip Hemiarthroplasty on Trochanteric Fracture [CN-221020]
An 85 years old female fall on a slippery ground 7 days back. Since then she had severe hip pain, unable to stand or walk.
On Exam, She had shortening of her right lower limb, bruise over thigh on lateral aspect, Foot was rotated & lateral border touches the couch. There was proximal femoral shortening. After getting X-ray it was confirmed that, she had Trochanteric Fracture of her right femur.
Usual operative option for Trochateric Fracture is Dynamic Hip Screw (DHS). In this particular case we preferred Hip Hemiarthroplasty for some reasons. Early mobilisation of patient, bone quality was our concern. We discussed these with patient party, they were convinced to go for hip replacement.
Diagnosis: Trochanteric Fracture
Name of Operation: Replacement Hemiarthroplasty of Femoral Component (cemented)
