Fracture Neck of Femur | CRIF c Cannulated Hip Screw [CN-220530]

A 30 years old Male fell from height. He had severe hip pain and was unable to stand or walk since then. On radiograph he was diagnosed as Fracture Neck of Femur. He was operated Closed Reduction & Internal Fixation with Cannulated Hip Screw.

Ideal time for closed reduction and internal fixation is usually within 6 hour. Patient came to us after 18 hours. After preanesthetic evaluation operation was done around 24 hours after trauma. Chance of Avascular Necrosis (AVN) was high.

Post operative period was uneventful. Patient was non-weight bearing for 6 weeks.. Then gradual weight bearing started.  Consecutive X-rays showed gap in fracture site. The gap reduced gradually and complete union was achieved around 6 months after trauma.

This case was challenging. There were lots of odds, which was overcome by the grace of Almighty. Patient is now on his feet and painless.

We are grateful to Almighty for patient’s recovery and our success. After all a happy smiling face of patient after a challenging operation gives us courage and relief.
